I’m Melissa Whalen, a Registered Nurse and cosmetic injector with more than 20 years of experience in aesthetic medicine. I began my career at The Alfred Hospital, where I completed my nursing degree in 1990. After gaining clinical experience across London and Europe, I returned to Melbourne and worked in large public hospitals before transitioning into women’s health and day surgery.

It was during this time that I was introduced to the world of cosmetic medicine. I found myself drawn to the precision, creativity, and personal transformation it offered. After working alongside plastic and cosmetic surgeons, I began developing my skills in lasers and injectables, and I knew I had found my passion.

One of Victoria’s First Independent Nurse Injectors

In the early 2000s, I became one of Victoria’s first independent nurse injectors. I launched Jeune Cosmetic Medicine and spent several years delivering advanced treatments across Melbourne, regional Victoria, and Queensland. Working in partnership with beauty salons, I provided injectable and skin services in environments where access to clinical care was limited.

As my treatments became more advanced and as my family life evolved, I shifted from a mobile model to clinic-based care. I established permanent spaces in Ascot Vale and Caulfield/McKinnon, which remain my main clinic locations today.
