Preserve Your Healthy Glow
October 3, 2017
Smooth, radiant skin is outward sign of inner health and youth. However, sun exposure, diet, hormones and smoking can add years to your actual age. The outer layers of the skin are the most vulnerable to environmental factors and reflect structural and volume changes in the deeper layers. Most commonly, the texture of the skin is affected by dryness, wrinkles and build-up of excess dead skin cells as our natural exfoliation process slow down.
It’s well know that a healthy glow doesn’t mean a tan. In fact, the dark pigmentation of skin is a result of sun or solarium exposure is a sign of ski damage. These are most recognizable as age spots or freckles, and are permanent alterations to the skin’s appearance. Some people may also experience specific skin conditions such as acne, rosacea or psoriasis that can alter the texture and pigmentation of skin.
To keep your skin fresh and glowing remember the basics of skincare;
- Cleanse to remove excess oils and grime daily.
- Exfoliate regularly to keep your skin smooth as over time the natural exfoliation process slows down.
- Introduce Vitamin A and Vitamin C to accelerate cell turnover and promote anti-ageing processes.
- Moisturise daily to keep your skin well hydrated, and drink plenty of water throughout the day.
- Protect your skin from the sun and external environmental factors by applying minimum SPF 30+
Treatments that will help bring back your youthful glow include regular microdermabrasions and chemical peels. Other treatments that will target premature ageing are; DermaFrac, IPL, and fractionated laser.
